The Companion Guide: Pre-season Episode 5

Ris's notes on Vignobles Lacheteau Vouvray:

Vignobles Lacheteau – Vouvray

Color: Light yellow.

Nose and Palate: A beautifully expressive off-dry wine with floral notes and ripe fruit on the notes, and a nice balance in the mouth between honeyed notes and acidity. A full-bodied wine with a great balance of sugar and a long finish characterized by notes of honey and dried fruits.
 Appellation: Loire Valley France

Alcohol:  12.0%

This wine should be allowed to breathe at cooler temperatures prior to serving. Goes well with a wide range of foods because of its sweet, fruity flavor.

Description of the Vouvray Varietal:

Vouvray is a French wine region in the Loire Valley located in the Touraine district just east of the city of Tours in the commune of Vouvray. The Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) is dedicated almost exclusively to Chenin blanc; the obscure and minor grape Arbois is permitted but rarely used.[1]
